i going replace optical bay hdd , install ssd on regular hd. macbook pro late 2006 , has 2.33 ghz ata optical bay therefore ordered pata sata converter caddy install hdd. bought 120 gb crucial ssd.
current hdd has 2 partition, 1 data , other osx , apps
here questions,
1. once complete installation , run machine, computer automatically detect os on hdd (installed @ optical bay)? caz ssd brand new. if not, how can done? should create bootable usb? size of usb need this?
2. once on main screen, can go disk utility , format ssd , later copy osx portion hdd ssd? once done, can delete partition of osx hdd?
3. nervous excited @ same time. going post pictures , write experience in macrumors others can benefit it.
if can please me quick, appreciate it.

1 yes doesn't matter installed. uefi find if there bootable partition somewhere.
nothing else needed.

don't way have in mind. put ssd optibay. there better mounting, less noise , sms in mainbay hdd.
on 2011 mbps sata 6gb/s issue reasonable put ssd main bay not on 2006 machine.
hope bought cheapest ssd find. pata limit sequential speeds anyway hdd levels.
