Keyboard not illuminate

macbook pro 2011.
10.7.3
can't remember how many months are, since used illuminated keyboard.
today, need it.
so, went system preferences, keyboard, , checked 'automatically illuminate...'.
turned off lights in room.
guess what: keyboard did not illuminated.

why? there problem? can illuminate mbp keyboard?

 

did try buttons on keyboard itself? otherwise hit apple store.
