Why can't bluetooth be used to it's full potential?

hi guys 1 of first things noticed when got iphone couldn't & bluetooth media (photos, videos, music) mac , friend's cellphones/ipod touches. getting photos onto mac old samsung phone used real easy , quick, it's drag have plug in , import iphoto... bad since iphone 4s's camera amazing. sacrifice nothing files able sent , ios5 devices. not optical drive or big , physical hinders device. software feature that'd make idevices so better.

don't why apple decided not implement handy feature ios. allows exchange of media between devices of platforms no setup.

there reason?

 

it sucks battery , full of security holes.
