Problem: display has gone from high def to looking like an old tv

hello,

appreciated. screen has gone being nice , crystal clear looking old television. colors still good, , otherwise machine running fine. i've played resolution settings no avail. playing energy saver didn't either. problem began after i'd cleaned computer , keyboard, there lot of button smashing going on.

15" macbook pro
2.53 intel core 2 duo
4 gb ddr 3
nvidia 9400m

 

what mean old tv? considering old crt tv, while not high definition, damn sight better oled tvs out there now...
