i bought new ipad , still have ipad 1. inserting cable 30 pin slot on ipad 1 simple , doesn't require force. however, seems i'm missing in proper way insert same cable new ipad. there sort of technique use, inserting @ angle? tried (gently, of course) lots of different angles , when inserted bit of struggle. i've used both supplied apple cable , belkin aftermarket cable same issue.

i had old apple cable wouldnt go in tossed , used one. cable did work on other apple products not new ipad
