Odds for Apple dropping firewire?

think odds apple dropping firewire on imac 2012?

right i'm in classic dilemma of waiting 2012 or buying 2011. have no problem waiting , prefer have newest mac.

but... have old soundcard breakout box running on firewire , if they'll drop firewire port 2012 model useless me :-(

if new model not need go 2011 refurb, reason there no refurb department of official danish apple store. second; danish consumer law better the 1 (and there's tax , if import one), prefer buy in denmark.

 

chances still low, ethernet port bigger , might in more danger lost, though used more fw port.
when enough tb devices available, apple ditch fw of course, though might come sooner 1 thinks.
