iCloud calendar cannot send out invites to non iCloud users

this has been brought before once , on apple discussion forums. wanted feed others here have problem well.

appears when creating new in ical under icloud account, or through icloud online, caldav invites sent out user not have .me address not received.

called apple support on , answer got (and i'm not joking) how made , it's not broke.

has here been able send out caldav invite icloud gmail or other users?
