12GB Kit

have 6gb in mac pro (4-core xeon 3500 series) 3rd gen. 2009 , looking upgrade 16gb use video editing. not sure make of ram buy head name crucial pop quite often. did scan using software provide , gave me message saying

available memory slots: -2

16gb have replace ram , buy 12gb kit (4gbx3) ?

had live chat crucial , said did not understand -2 slots message , best speak apple. have been on hold 30 mins trying answer.

 

you'd need 4gbx4 or 8gbx2 16gb.
