Retrieve data from MacBook : EFI Folder

hi everyone,

2007 intel core 2 duo macbook pro died week when spilled water inside. took out internal hdd , had friend hook on linux system. drive booted there on folder called efi. inside folder called apple contained 2 file unknown extension don't remember.

tried pluging in girlfriend's macbook usb/sata adapter. disk did not boot on desktop did show in diskutility. no options available, couldn't repair/reinit/format drive.

had quite lot stuff on drive i'd need back. have idea might have happened, if data lost or if it's encrypted, or else? i'd appreciate : i'm broke student , unfortunately cannot afford hire technician.

idea efi folder , if somehow can fix it?
