Corrupted Pictures?

had strange happen 500 of 25,000 photo library in aperture , wanted ideas on have caused , if has had happen them.

exporting master images aperture 3 folder , having lightroom 3 import them test software. found 500 images gray , not show in lightroom. not see thumbnails or full images. tried view images in viewnx2 , got unsupported file type. however, tested images in preview , aperture , visible.

figured open them in photoshop , "save as" , new copy ok , "fixed". tried photomechanic , since batch processing able perform "save as" on images , able recover them. these new images visible on software programs.

have ideas hell have happened?
