my friend bought 17" 2.5ghz i7 8gb mbp 750gb 7200 rpm hard drive.
purchased sata bay , 128gb crucial m4.
booted up, worked perfectly. opened machine , installed 128gb m4 enclosure , took superdrive out. after completing task booted machine , disk utility recognized new drive, , running lion off of 750gb untouched , running fine.
next stuck lion usb recovery drive port , booted up. reformatted both 750gb hdd , 128gb ssd , started over, usb disc (and had internet option recovery)
on install process, , problems have begun. @ 19 minutes install time drastically lags , took 3 or 4 hours complete install.
once installation complete, machine booted fine, after 4 or 5 restarts, finder not stop locking , machine performing quite poorly.
here sit, trying reinstall lion again, , stuck @ 19 minutes-and-eventually-slowly-counting-down problem again. time doing internet recovery rule out usb drive possible problem. however, i'm still stuck on 19 minutes.
i've noticed laptop becoming increasingly hot, , fans beginning kick in @ pretty high speeds.
cause this? ssd working until restarts seemed have ruined it, faulty after such short period of time?
appreciate or suggestions @ all,
, thank time
rs
it have been faulty out of box...it happens. abort install if mbp heating shut down protect damage.
many stories bad ssd's, when work, great, can nightmare too. i'd take out, install lion on hdd , see if can ssd checked out.
