2008 MBP + Nvidia 8600M GT failure rate

i'm wondering how common the, apple acknowledged, display issue 2007/8 macbook pros? fail, or some?

i've got lightly used 2008 mbp that's working fine, odds stay way?

i'm trying decide whether rid while it's still fine, or hang on , hope best? 4 year gpu warranty due expire soon.

 

i'm pretty sure it's ~100%. check thread out that's 1435434602493452 pages of people complaining 8600.
