Using a Server Mini as a "MBP dock"

currently take 08' macbook everywhere me , @ home hook fw 400 external/scratch disk , work there.

i've been tempted 2011 13" mbp (i have few important ppc applications) want know before lock 1 in if it's possible use server mini sort of docking station on thunderbolt.

i'm working on fcp7 project on road , when home can hook mini , finish there 2 machines working one?

such thing work if server running lion , mbp snow leopard?

i'd use 1920 x 1200 monitor well, screen share 2 extended desktop , use ppc applications?

 

if you're running lion not running ppc apps. you'll need 10.4-10.6 that.

far connecting mini , mbp via thunderbolt share resources not possible.

if connect 2 on thunderbolt use target disk mode holding "t" key @ boot on mbp.

make mini mount mbp's hd regular external drive.
