here's scenario:
bought bunch of ipads users. when first got them, logged them in generic itunes account created (let's call generic@domain.com), download apps wanted preinstalled these people.
when gave ipads users, had them create own itunes logons, , logon itunes store on ipad (let's call 1 of users user@domain.com).
problem when want update apps installed generic@domain.com, wants password generic@domain.com (which cannot have), though ipad logged store user@domain.com. we'd though installed under different logon, new logon take responsibility updating app. possible, or choice delete app, , reinstall new user?
in case matters, these free apps downloaded. reason we're looking away not having uninstall , reinstall, people using these ipads not tech-people. trying keep easy possible, looks may have unintentionally screwed ourselves doing way. input appreciated!
yup, may screwed. couple of thoughts. if large corporate customer may able access specialized support apple deal issue. , if you're not, local apple store may have small business expert can help. wouldn't optimistic on score, however. although apple promotes support businesses, i've heard decidedly mixed results customers, compared provided firms such lenovo. (they offer custom configuration of software tablets corporate customers, example.)
of course, you've identified amounts "simplest" solution. since software you've added free apps @ least don't have deal reimbursing every user purchasing individual apps. , tech-challenged user should able follow instructions relatively simple procedure of deleting app , reinstalling under own "user@domain.com" itunes account. after all, you've provided users (whether know or not) capability create own itunes account , add/delete apps please. better train them how safely , efficiently run risk they'll accidentally delete 1 of apps you're installed , not know how reinstall it.
