How can I turn off 3G ??

is there anyway turn off 3g under ios 5.02?

battery cannot last 6or 7 hrs, disabled 3g. turned on 3g if need to. works fine until "upgrade" latest ios 5.02.

option turn off 3g gone.. , battery can last 4 or 5 hrs.... there way can turn off 3g??????

need help!!
