Other capacity on iPhone

i have approx 14g of "other" capacity on iphone-- have tried trick of checking , unchecking open itunes, checking , unchecking other items such syncing of music, etc. did full restore. assumption doing restore backup puts on iphone whatever causing problem begin with.
suggestions?
