Why my iPhone is no replacement to a landline- 911

http://www.azcentral.com/news/artic...levels-two-homes-labeled-suspicious-abrk.html

near fire @ time, , have decided call 911 (i feel entire road shake, living in california again). called 911 using iphone.

iphone says 911, below see timer of how long have been on phone, "emergency call - 0:00" 0:00 counting how long have been on call other call. in case wondering, yes 911 still shows in recents list, wise, , delete entry recents (apple allows delete single entries, don't have clear entire recents list). if hang on 911 agent, or hang before pick up, 911 center calls normal 480 phone number (the area code area), important pick call if see random number call you, , never got through 911. thing was, took on 30 minutes give me call back, , ignored call.

on topic though, call rang through other call, keep ringing, , ringing, , ringing, , ringing, , nobody pick on other end! thinking myself, this supposed depend on when situations arise? banged on door of closest house, and person inside said called 911, , went through right away, not able use cell phone either, kept ringing iphone did. landline got 911 right away.

within 15 minutes, there 4 or 5 fire trucks, , many police officers/ambulances ready help. apparently there 100 911 calls during time report same fire...but doesn't of cell phones got through, while people landlines able through.

sounds there issue local 911.

should fix cause realistically these days, lot of people have gotten rid of landlines it's unrealistic of them say, "well it's new technology , don't have support it".

mean before got rid of landline years , years ago (at least 4 or 5, maybe 6), starting become trend. these days common people not have landline. , few people know 1 don't use @ all. in fact i'm not sure why keep paying (one of says it's convenient way screen spam calls. rid of landline , don't them).
