i'm making time machine backup on external hard drive, damn thing noisy can't leave thing on hours on end, turn on when needed. nature of tm, though makes incremental backups after first big one. can set tm work when turn hard drive on? know own self weakest link in process in terms of remembering turn hard drive on, won't have point out.
is external in 1 unit? if there isn't can do. if won't spin down won't.
if it's in caddy can remove from, better caddies have chip allow drive sleep. guess either sell in 1 buy new drive , caddy, or put noise.
