Newbie with teething problems

hi all,
hello , hoping can pick collective experienced brains silly start questions !
took plunge after 4 pc's bit dust in 12 years of small business use , bought imac. 'playing' learn ins , out of beast.
silly question 1. of guys in shop accessed gmail account , able send , receive emails. far good. can't seem 'share' photo photo booth see how works. when go send asks password email address. despite entering correct password keeps telling me combination incorrect yet know it's correct. when select continue again there various choices, 'imap', 'pop' etc ! seem remember 'pop' might have still can't seem anywhere. 'not technica'l thoughts - please ?
