hello,
maybe 3 or 4 months notebook has been giving me "startup disk full" error several times day. routinely delete unneeded files, doesn't fix issue.
i've used programs grand perspective delete tremendous amounts of files , programs (i have uninstalled , deleted files associated final cut suite) , frees space, promptly filled without reason.
had 20 free gigs on wednesday morning, left camping trip without computer, , today have 7 free gigs. haven't used programs (besides safari right now) or downloaded anything.
far finder tells me files on hard drive should add 36 gigs, have no idea other 470 gigs are filling computer.
have read threads none seem clarfiy why 470 gigs not show in finder. if there threads deal comprehensively please refer me them. otherwise, if offer advice it'd appreciated.
to find out, hard drive capacity being used again, can use following free applications:
maybe try combination of several, if still can't find "missing" capacity.
if use lion, maybe can help: what "other" in storage tab? eating space? theseb
