Apple Remote with Spotify?

does know way apple remote work spotify? tried spotify mac remote doesn't appear work, @ least not on 10.7.2. made apple remote stop functioning @ when spotify open.

(typical behavior right , down change volume, should, left , right, , play/pause open itunes , start controlling that.) want them control spotify.

have or know of solution right now? didn't intend $20 remote glorified powerpoint clicker.

 

i use remote buddy itunes server.
