this morning rebooted macbook pro. started trying load firmware update, of course didn't exist because there wasn't 1 begin with. hanged , sat there @ 0% 5 minutes until restarted it.
then, booted spinning indicator. restarted again, apple logo, nothing.
went disk utility app in recovery, macintosh hd gray , wouldn't mount until erased partition. wouldn't let me repair or verify permissions.
proceeded reinstall os x. download took 2 hours, 20 minutes install. nightmare.
has had happen in lion particularly?
i had similar issue found had faulty ram, tested ram memtest , sure enough failed test put original ram in , havnt had issues since
