Hard drive serious failure in just over year old imac HELP,,

bought imac 27" in late december 2010. ran disk utility routine check weekend , panel on left showed 1tb in red , message said should contact technicia hard drive had serious problem. technician came today , said there electrical issue hard drive meaning electricity not reach the hard drive correctly need new drive. told quite normal in imac not untilvafter 4 or 5 years. has heard of issue , in particular after little on year of purchase.?*

apple issued recall on 1tb drives in imacs. enter serial number on page. if in recall, replace free of charge.
