copy some files from cd to cd?

can tell me how copy files cd new blank cd?
if put source cd in, select files , copy them burn folder appear 'alias'. if put blank cd in , select burn fails , says can't see files.
i've read disk utility being able copy complete cd new cd not want do; want burn of files on source cd new cd.
(imac running lion)
