Incoming Text messages don't show alert badge or notifications

the subject says all.

iphone 3gs on 4.0 w/ 05.13.04 bb

i've tried using bitesms see if alert me, far literally have go messages every 20 minutes check , see if new conversation has been updated text message - not optimal.

else experienced this?

thoughts?

i have same issue, sporadically. have lock info , springtomise installed on phone, don't know if makes difference.
