i have 6 month old imac 27 inch 2 drives. smaller 1 ssd, of have used 90 gb of 250 gb.
have 2 tb drive, has hardly anything. seems should using store files. of files have either photos or itunes stuff, cds have ripped.
seems waste of second drive, of course slower ssd. should using itunes , iphoto? when imported pictures camera, did without using iphoto first--sd card on camera second disk of course, when brought them iphoto, appear on ssd disk.
or way should be? should use 2nd drive backup?
see precious little info , wondering others do.
worry if/when ssd card becomes full.

bingo! use time machine backup volume. bigger time machine backup volume, better off you'll in long run if ever accidentally delete , realize it's missing weeks or months later. if time machine volume small you'll able keep limited backups. if it's massive in comparison normal data drive, you'll able store months of incremental backups.
