please forgive newbie.
macbook air (previous model, 2 years old) literally collapsed. hinging mechanism disintegrated , lost ability see screen.
able export screen view onto tv using minidvi port , hdmi cable. good.
able full time machine backup external time capsule should have all. tv link crashed , macbook air either not booting or can't see it. doesn't matter much, hope, long backup need.
have macbook pro , transfer data machine without interfering data have on already. wouldn't mind loading icloud either, although not syncing purposes - backup access pro.
looking @ forums etc seems migration assistant transfer pro seems if it's new pro. suspect lose existing data on pro if that.
don't know partitions , such wondered if load air hd onto pro , access separately? or physically remove hd , use external hd air stuff accessible?
icloud solution ok talks iwork files. stuff word , excel office. not sure if ms stuff works icloud.
email mail (mac) should ok somehow , there few years of emails don't want lose.
bit of long story can start there? much, steve

use boot camp assistant partition pro drive without damaging data. use disk utility format hfs+ journaled.
boot recovery mode. (does pro have lion?) if not, use bootable grey disk came pro. restore time machine backup of air new partition made. voila (i think)
