Crossfire 6870 Faster than Single 7970?!

so i'm proud owner of 2 6870s (long story). gaming in windows , wait few updates/price cuts play latest games, crossfire on table.

7970 ($600-700)is not os x compatible yet, while we're waiting wanted @ crossfire capable of. apparently the cf'd 6870x2 compared single 7970! 6870 crossfirex (x2 else):
