Bluetooth communication with external device

i beginning project need make embedded device running linux communicate iphone, using bluetooth.

app need able send , receive files (at ~100kb) between device , iphone. rest of functionality can added later.

i'm still in phase of trying find appropriate technical solution problem. far i've come couple of conclusions.

since device not mfi certified, way communicate using bt 4.0 (le). app work on iphone 4s , have implemented using corebluetooth api. correct?

required on device side? device implements standard bluez bt stack , supports bt 4.0.

how retrieve files linux filesystem , make them transfer iphone? there suitable bluetooth profile or have create own?
