My dad's iMac is really slow - it keeps uploading something

dad's imac has been running slow lately. called , said when went the"activity overview" thing , clicked network, graph shows constant high upload, while download running (i.e. nonexistent wasn't downloading right now). figure might reason why things running slow.

first thing thought virus maybe, said had free virus program installed called iantivirus. far know 1 virus on osx hidden in free anti virus program, googled , couldn't find - plus he's had installed long time.


guys think cause upload? had dropbox while deleted because thought caused mac running slow. right now, without dropbox, don't see uploading (constantly).

don't know uploading dad's experiencing... - macs come inbuilt virus protection , there few , far between viruses have managed penetrate mac system.

1 of worst mac viruses have managed called mac keeper, prompts download mac keeper "clean" mac. this, wiping complete hard drive sparkly clean. leaving nothing left. however, requires physically click on popup springs , download yourself. again, said before, there not known viruses can penetrate mac without knowing - , helping.

so, dad shouldn't have installed virus software @ all, virus protection once more , find out if uninstalling helps anything. don't panic, said, macs famous being virus free, have had mac on year now, without installing 3rd party virus protection , not had single problem. don't worry ridding mac of protection.
