HELP! Looking for a new 15" MacBook Pro...RAM question

hi all!


first post here , i'm sure question asked before, can't seem find answer. i'm in market new macbook pro, mine getting rather old. looking @ apple store , saw 15" 2.5ghz capable of using maximum of 8gb of ram.

yet on other hand, see few people selling them 16gb of ram. called apple , asked them case is....can run 16gb of ram or not? site states 8gb max powerbooks. told me install 16gb of ram, computer able use 8gb of it....so installing , buying 16gb kit waste of money. @ same time, see people posting on net saying running 16gb machine , in fact faster running.

see specs or hear voices did upgrade. worth or not? did computer perform faster? render lots of video ram , graphics cards important me. in advance.

you can find specs on apple products, including maximum ram:

• by visiting everymac.com: actual maximum ram
• by selecting model on crucial memory advisor™ tool find ram information
• by entering serial number here find specs model.
  (be aware models can use more ram apple shows. check everymac verify actual usable ram.)
