have atv1 & atv2, atv1 use watching movies bought through itunes without having stream mac. once week find atv1 has turned on, presume checking updates. of course takes moment put on standby until notice hard drive on no reason, wearing out bit bit. atv2 turn off automatically after while if not being used, cannot find setting make atv1 this. solutions anyone, bar unplugging power totally between uses?
i don't think has found way turn off atv1 - makes stay off - without yanking power cord. it's frustrating because of hdd wear , amount of heat units puts off, there doesn't appear solution and, because it's superseded, there's unlikely ever one.
