i'm testing samsung b2430h monitor mba @ moment, , while screen seems okay if brightness below 98% there audible whine distracting , annoying. monitor has amazon reviews, few people mention whine.
i've heard things dell ultrasharp monitors - maybe should send , try one? u2412m?
i'm not looking top-end displays, 1 desktop monitor , doesn't make noise!
i have dell ultrasharp 2209wa connected mini, , love it. have never noticed whining sound, again, have hearing loss , tinnitus. ultrasharps more expensive many other monitors, worth it. wasn't sold on benefits of ips monitor until got mine. difference driven home when got cheap acer second monitor. acer works fine, color reproduction , off-angle viewing don't hold candle older dell. warranty on ultrasharps well: 3 year advance shipment replacement 1 dead/stuck pixel.
