iTunes starting a download all over again?

yesterday morning started downloading couple of 4 gb movies itunes store. yesterday night checked on status, , progress bars in itunes complete - both said had downloaded on 3 gb , there less 30 minutes remaining. little later, checked on statuses again, , looked itunes had decided redownload both of movies again, because both status bars @ beginning - said had downloaded around 20 mb or so, , there several hours remaining. morning both movies finished downloading. idea why itunes start downloading movies on again?

 

i reallly confused new macs , have accidentally changed default opening program text edit , download opens in text edit can't use can pls tell me way fix or tell me program opens can change it of great me
