Inserting tracks in an mp3

hi. want insert track markers/breaks/tags (not sure of correct term) in mp3 listener can skip through individual tracks, without creating separate files. there seem windows based programs - ideas on how achieve on mac?

 

what names of windows based applications?
have tried "mac alternative ...." search terms in www search engine of choice yet?
