with new ipad on way, decided purchase first hd movie. bought @ 1080p after changing store preference, , downloaded both 1080p file , sd file, , combined them single thumbnail in movie library.
first time went play them, told me computer couldn't handle 1080p (not surprising) , asked me if wanted play anyway, or play sd version. said play 1080p version, , played fine. far good. problem starts after tried play again. second time selected "sd" see difference. since then, have been unable itunes play 1080p version of movie. have spent last 20 minutes dinking around in itunes , on google trying find answer should stupidly simple.
have tried or know works
can see both version in file system, , can play them both in quicktime.
under preferences > playback, have "prefer 1080p content" selected option. have tried turnthing off , on no effect
going file system , opening hd version in itunes causes sd version play.
ideas how playing 1080p?
bonus question: when movie playing, can't find way figure out version playing. know it's sd version because visually degraded. have hd version open in qt comparison when i'm not sure. how figure out 1 itunes using?
