How is a web browser being allowed to use 800MB of RAM good RAM
management?
i have 2gb of ram in mbp (don't laugh) , single web browser firefox can cripple using half of available ram on day of usage. pissing me off no end because every action input computer met god awful sound of disk grinding , infuriating beachball. why doesn't firefox or other browser take crap in ram , dump after i've closed window? can close every firefox window , thing still using on 800mb of ram! gets bad firefox become sluggish. way clear ram quit browser. how smart ram management?
why can't manually limit amount of ram application allowed use? osx can't seem figure out.
sorry rant i'm sick of this.
you're blaming firefox's excessive ram usage on poor memory management os x? correct thing blame firefox's memory leaks , poorly coded memory management. os x doing job correctly putting unused portions of ram swap on disk.
