i plugged in ipod , said wasnt working , have return factory settings. didn't know why , wanted save settings tried eject it, planning try connecting again. computer said ipod disconnected , unplugged without looking @ ipod screen (i know not smart) , ipod screen still says "connected" several hours later , ipod not anything.
replugged in ipod see if anything, , not appear on itunes. looked in finder , name of there clicked on it. 40 minutes later rainbow pinwheel still there unplugged ipod, logo stayed in finder.
ipod screen still says "connected" , still unresponsive.
advice! can tell way describe things, clueless.
ipod nano 16gb, model number a1285 (not sure if helpful). have had no problems in past

hold down menu button , middle button few seconds, see if happens. make sure while ipod connected power source,
