some if can't play of music in music.app. because had preexisting music on iphone 4s/ipad 2 when ran absinthe. way absinthe works creates backups (that's why takes long if have lot of data). in process of creating these backups, deletes most, if not all, of music in itunes_control folder. report issue had itunes match on prior jailbreaking.
here's solution: turn off itunes match on idevice , itunes on computer. open music.app , manually delete every song swiping right , pressing red delete. might faster if deleted artists or albums instead of individual songs. have choice. 1) itunes match still off on both devices, sync music on computer idevice before had itunes match. or slower way, 2) turn on itunes match on idevice , computer , manually download every song on idevice cloud.
music work because there's not cached version of on idevice, actual file.

purpose of guide: if want keep jailbroken device's settings , transfer untouched updated firmware idevice or upgraded idevice. works ipod touch/iphone/ipad.
point on, refer non-updated/old device "old" , updated/new device "new"
1. if jailbroken , want keep jailbroken apps , settings, open pkgbackup (you can save addressbook or dropbox highly recommend dropbox) , select want backup. not recommend backing content in appstore apps. absolutely want installed packages, preference files (those jailbreak data settings saved), , user sources. turn off itunes match.
2. plug in old , right click device on left in itunes , transfer purchases. when it's done, sync , up.
important if not want accidentally lose data
may need show hidden files , folders. in windows, press alt show toolbar (you may not need in cases), hit tools, folder options, view tab, check box show hidden files , folders. see library on os x, in finder, hit go press option.
if have mac, go to
~/library/application support/mobilesync/backup
two-finger click backup (if have many devices, check correct udid. if not know udid is, click on serial number in info in itunes) , copy it. paste file desktop have 2 copies of backup.
if have pc, go to
yourcomputername/appdata/roaming/apple computer/mobilesync/backup
right-finger click backup (if have many devices, check correct udid. if not know udid is, click on serial number in info in itunes) , copy it. paste file desktop have 2 copies of backup.
end important procedure
if updating firmware jailbreak same device , not using device, restore firmware want jailbreak (5.0.1). if using new device, have on 5.0.1 or 5.0 if you're using iphone 4s , want have ability unlock later. go welcome screen on device (don't send diagnostic details apple), not restore backup or yet. jailbreak device tool (absinthe).
when it's done, go cydia , install pkgbackup. open pkgbackup , view restore , restore packages , preference files. may show fraction isn't equal 1 (like 45/67 or 78/90 not equal 1; 67/67 or 90/90 equal 1) hit button in top right select preference files. restore everything. reboot when prompts to.
ready restore backup in itunes. put app data, text messges, system settings mail accounts, brightness settings, camera roll, , icon layout before after when finish. after restore backup , sync apps device, may see apps out of place , messy layout. if case, restore backup again. should fix icons way before.
