Cable Modem Settings?

just upgraded internet service dsl cable.
went dsl modem cable modem... obviously..

there settings should tinker on new modem security or speed or anything? asked tech , said nothing aware of.
have modem connected extreme.
have moto sb6121?

forgot add, there security package included comcast.
need package? never had prior dsl.

spend time hacking around new setup.
