AppleCare worth it if I use MCE OptiBay?

anyone have experience apple's policies on modifying computer , being covered still under applecare?

example, have samsung 830 in pro original hdd in mce optibay. display have problem, take in service under applecare , receive said service, or problem replaced parts? same question, processor or mobo fried?

removing/replacing optical drive voids warranty , applecare.
