Problem with safari connecting to webpages

for christmas 2010 got macbook, , ever since got have had trouble safari. problem when try go access webpages such facebook, tumblr or google docs among others, has given me message saying safari can't establish secure connection. in on year, hasn't changed.

few months ago, family had set new wireless network, , brought no change. checked see if these sites blocked parental controls, , came false. in trying figure out problem tried other browsers. tried firefox , chrome no avail.

there 3 other apple computers ( imac, macbook, , macbook pro ) , none of them have problem.

correcting issue appreciated
