Advice on a RAID 5 and 10

i have owc mecury elite pro qx2 , 4 x 2tb hitachi 7200rpm / 32mb cache desktars. can set device either nraid (span), jbod, raid 0, 1, 5, or 10. connecting 2011 imac 3.4 ghz running mac os 10.6.8.

looked @ raid configuration options. initially, going set raid 5 said prone problems during power outtages. true? if case, maybe raid 10???

raid 10 show on desktop 1 2tb or 8tb volume.

store work files , family photos on raid not want have worry not being able retrieve/rebuild information if 1 of disk fails or power outtage occurs.

feeback appreciated. thanks!

raid 10 show @ 4tb pool of storage.

raid 10 offers superior write speeds on raid 5 eats lot of disc space. rebuilds faster on raid 10 because don't have calculate , stripe parity info.

raid 5 ideal if want read since you've got spindles pushing data sucks @ write because each drive striping parity.
