i have 5th gen aeb , readynas duo 2tb of storage. use readynas backup 3 macs, running lion. works ok, pain fix if stops backing or entering time machine etc. therefore don't 100% trust restore computer should worst happen.
people recommend return aeb (i've had 1 week) apple store in exchange time capsule? how robust backup , restore via ethernet time capsule? usb level of reliability of closer of 3rd part nass?
you haven't stated kind of problems have readynas, or whether running latest software it.
i'd give netgear support call if problem crops up, , update latest software can.
other options external usb drive airport extreme, or time capsule have stated (whichever cheapest really).
