i desperately trying convince boss let me use mac instead of windows machine.
last major hurdle fact our multi-user company database based on , ran through microsoft access 2007 ... big problem considering there no such thing microsoft access mac. file multi-user , access @ once , makes changes converting data filemaker no since don't own copies of filemaker , have hard time convincing boss spend on licenses when have working solution installed , comes part of office.suggestions?
options not feasible:
boot camp: database needs accessible in middle of work flow , rebooting @ , rebooting work not option.
fusion or parallels: boss doesn't mac. giving him ammo against os x saying "hey, let me run mac can buy windows license , run ... on mac!" not going fly him.
filemaker: file multi-user , accesses @ once , makes changes converting data filemaker no since don't own copies of filemaker , have hard time convincing boss spend on licenses when have working solution installed , comes part of office.
hope has solved particular bug in using mac in windows dominated workplace.
if none of usual options not acceptable, you're stuck windows.
run windows apps on mac, need install windows via boot camp or use parallels or vmware fusion.
if don't have windows license, can use crossover run applications. not windows apps compatible crossover. check site compatible apps.
