Macbook Memory Full???

i noticed hd using 235.81 gb.
i've been looking @ folders, apps, , various files, math doesn't make sense. things aren't adding 235.81. figures i'm getting more 80-100 gb not 200+ (yes converted mb gb properly). here's confuses me: according "get info" window, main account folder uses 140 gb of memory, when info on of folders within main account folder, memory usage 70 gb.

have idea memory being stored??

 

to find out, hard drive capacity being used, can use following free applications:

• diskinventory x
• omnidisksweeper
• jdisk report
• grandperspective

maybe try combination of several, if still can't find "missing" capacity.

btw, "memory" not same "hard drive capacity":

• what computer memory? ram vs hard drive
• ram vs. hard disk

it recommended, have 10 20 % of hdd's capacity unused.

have filevault enabled or use mac os x 10.7 lion + time machine?
