i've come across bit of peculiar situation. year i've had bootcamp partition installed side side mac os on 2011 mbp, , i've felt mac os side not 'snappy' expect power of computer; small things frequent beachballs, slow load applications, hang ups in safari (although safari bit slow regardless). never imagined separate windows 7 partition cause mac slow.
last week realised didn't need windows side anymore , decided repartition drive via bootcamp mac only. literally, done, noticeable difference in speed opening things such large word documents etc felt first time since got mbp. bear in mind had no expectations deleting windows partition change anything, genuine discovery mac sped up.
decided test installing windows 7 via vmware fusion, , after exiting application , restarting computer, still laggy similar behaviour before.
seems i've discovered @ least mac in particular, having form of windows installed seems cause general slow down in speed. (i still have >100gb of disk space remaining, not memory issue people have) removing windows seems speed mac , since don't need @ moment, think i'll stick new-found 'snappiness'.
has had similar , there fixes in case need windows again in future?
