iPhone iphone 3gs jaibreak 5.0.1

hi guys,

i'm @ wits end. have done jailbreak/unlock on iphone 3g running 4.2.1 (upgraded baseband 6.15.00) worked great...of course no gps other worked great.

ff new (used) iphone 3gs. bought phone 5.0.1 firmware loaded. on 3gs, used redsn0w hacktivate, install cydia, , install ipad baseband. in retrospect, wish not have updated baseband, is. plug in tmobile sim...sometimes says has service , says "no service" when has service cellular data works fine (though it's edge...again i'm willing compromise). phone cannot receive calls seems make outgoing ok (when there service). after couple hours of having service sort of turn off , seems gone forever.

question is...i either restore 5.0.1 unjailbroke, locked , whatever unlockable bb comes 5.0.1...or possibly working on 6.15.00. restoring 5.0.1 whatever bb comes 5.0.1 possible? i've restored apple couple times bb remains @ 06.15.00.

i've tried install firmware 4.1.2 on 3gs...with no luck. in pwned dfu mode @ time. running on osx...does stuff work better in windows because if need can go route too.

purchased at&t sim card..thinking maybe i'd go go phone plan...but reason system won't activate sim. have regular at&t sim not "go phone" sim...i buy cheap go phone if needed...but i'm not buying that's issue.

ideas hugely appreciate.

 

i had similar problem 3gs after ios 6.0 upgrade. whenever select 3g, reception drops out , "no service" indication. tried everything, including jailbreak , ipad baseband thingy. still have no 3g , phone quite unstable. remain unconvinced problem hardware -- timing coincidental.
