ipad international roaming rates

hi forum,

have looked on verizon , at&t's websites , can't find actual rate. have experience international roaming rates?

travel few times year , can't local sim travel (japan) because don't give them out ipads not bought in japan. have lockdown on data on there.

do sell regular prepaid data sims? if buy 1 of , cut down. sim cutter around $10 @ amazon. when travel europe. prepaid data microsims tough find there too.
