I think I got windows booting off thunderbolt (seagate goflex adapter)

in case others interesting in having windows on external drive...

can't use bootcamp assistant install drive directly, used winclone transfer on bootcamp partition ssd using goflex adapter. drive show bootable drive, , have gotten windows running off versus internal.

thing i'm not sure of if system if works without bootcamp partition on internal drive. earlier in week removed internal partition bootcamp assistant , both partition disappeared. however, wasn't controlled experiment, , may not repeat while since takes dang long restore everything.

minimal bootcamp install on internal drive, win me having c drive on ssd , not having crack imac open (again). though @ $99 adapter + $50 cable, not cheap solution either....

 

i run vmware fusion on external thunderbolt gear. testing has been done on mac minis base , server.

not bootcamp work in sept grabbed vmware fusion.

works , have not bothered bootcamp since.
